The first international Summer School on “Science, Religion and Health” took place in the city of Girona (near Barcelona) from 13 to 16 June 2022.
The primary focus of the summer school was to provide a strong theoretical and methodological basis for early-career researchers doing social scientific research on the entanglements and boundaries between science religion and health. The Summer School was organized around a combination of public lectures by recognized scholars in this field and paper sessions where participants presented their ongoing research in small groups to get feedback. The program also included one-to-one encounters between early-career scholars and senior scholars.
The Summer School was organised by the International Research Network on Science, Religion & Health, the research group ISOR (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona), and the Càtedra Ferrater Mora (Universitat de Girona).

Keynote Speakers included:
Prof. Paul Bramadat, University of Victoria
Prof. Marian Burchardt, Lepizig University
Dr. Silke Gülker, Leipzig University
Dr. Karen Palmer, University of British Columbia
Prof. Mar Griera, Autonomous University of Barcelona
Prof. Irene Becci, Université de Laussane
Prof. Séverine Mathieu, École pratique des Hautes Études (EPHE) & GSRL (Groupe de Sociologie des religions et de la Laïcité)

The summer school was the starting point of a (voluntary) mentoring Program in which senior and early-career scholars work together in meetings for the duration of 5 months towards the preparation of a research paper.
